6-10 July 2020
Cracow Language Teaching Staff Training Week provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and examples of best practice with an audience of language education professionals from higher education establishments. The event focuses on teaching languages in an academic environment as well as teaching languages for specific purposes. Make an impact and contribute to our programme by sending in a paper and becoming a speaker.
Themes for 3rd Cracow Language Teaching Staff Training Week 2020
The programme will be organized under four main themes:
Blended Learning, ICT, Modern Technologies
Academic Skills 
Language for Specific Purposes 
Autonomous Learning 
Proposals must link to one of the strands (above) and meet at least ONE of the two criteria below:
offer practical solutions for participants to use in their institutions
explore trends and developments that are current and applicable

Format of presentations and workshops

  • Presentations will be delivered in 30-minute slots. Your presentation should take no more than 20-minutes and you should allow 10 minutes at the end for a question and answer session or discussion. 
  • Workshops must be interactive and may be a forum for sharing expertise between participants. They will be delivered in 60-minute slots.


Please submit your proposal by filling in the Call for Papers form by 31 January 2020. The Programme Committee will confirm whether your proposal has been accepted by 8 February 2020. Please note that no more than two participants per university will be accepted, as we would like to have a diversified international group.

When the programme is ready in February 2020, the registration for non-presenting participants (preferably foreign language teachers) will open on this website.
Publication of papers
All Authors with accepted papers (presentations and workshops) are invited to submit an extended version of the paper before 15 September 2020 to be published in the Jagiellonian Language Centre’s journal “Zeszyty Glottodydaktyczne” . The papers should be written in English and follow a specified format

Cost of attendance
The fee for Cracow Language Teaching Staff Training Week is €100. For Presenters the fee is €80. All participants are expected to register for the event and cover the cost of attending (travel, accommodation and fee). The organisers will cover the cost of guided tours (Museum Collegium Maius, the Royal Wawel Castle, a walking tour of the Old Town), coffee breaks and informal dinner. The participants will need to cover the cost of food including lunch. There will also be a casual meet&greet event for those arriving on Sunday. The participants whose institutions are members of the ERASMUS+ mobility programme can apply for an ERASMUS+ grant at their home institutions.
